Soya Tikka Recipe | Crispy Soya Chunk Recipe

Soya Tikka Masala is an Indian favourite along with coriander chutney. Another best option serve with chewy and fluffy Naan.

  • Soya tikka is made with the signature yoghurt marinated chargrilled soya smothered in an incredible spice infused curry sauce. It’s astonishingly straightforward – and no hard to find ingredients!

We will start the soya tikka with yoghurt marinade for soya thighs. We need juicy soya because we are going to blast the char grilled flavour of Soya Tikka!

How to make soya tikka or chunk

Mix all ingredients for making marinade

Add all below given ingredients in mixing container.

πŸ‘‰ 1 tbsp sarso tel
πŸ‘‰ 1.5 tbsp kashmiri mirch powder
πŸ‘‰ 1 tsp Spicy chilli mirch powder
πŸ‘‰ Pinch of haldi powder
πŸ‘‰ 1/4 tsp Garam masala
πŸ‘‰ 1 tsp Dhaniya Powder
πŸ‘‰ 1/2 tsp Jeera Powder
πŸ‘‰ 1 Pinch of Chaat masala
πŸ‘‰ 1 Pinch of black salt (kala namak)
πŸ‘‰ 1 Pinch of kali mirch powder
πŸ‘‰ 1 Pinch of ilaichi powder
πŸ‘‰ 1 Pinch of kasturi methi powder
Salt as per taste
πŸ‘‰ 1 tsp (Garlic + Ginger + Green mirch) Paste
πŸ‘‰ 1/2 lemon juice

The ingredients list in the recipe looks alarmingly long, but it’s deceptive because we’re making a serious curry here! We can’t skimp on flavour!

Add 3 teaspoon curd

πŸ‘‰ Add 3 teaspoon curd and mix well.

Boil soya and squeeze it

πŸ‘‰ We are using 100 gm soya from fortune brand. You can use available other brand soya.

πŸ‘‰ Put water for boiling. Add large pinch of salt into the water. Now add the 100 gm soya. After 1-2 minutes take it out and wash fresh water. Now last work is just little squeeze so that water comes out but remember not dry completely. Now soya becomes little soft and spongy.

πŸ‘‰ Some people use direct soya but I must recommend you don’t skip this step. Little water into soya (sponginess) helps spices mix and go deeper into the soya. This will enhance the taste.

Make yogurt coated marinade soya

Mix boiled squeeze soya yogurt marinade.

Add the ghee flavour

πŸ‘‰ Learn step step process of adding ghee flavour because may be it’s new thing for you. It could be skip but I recommend you must try.

πŸ‘‰ Put Cinder (Angara- fire wood part) on light lamp(Diva). Add ghee onto it. Smoke comes out. Close the bowl for 3-4 minutes. Now you will see the amazing texture of soya.

Tikka preparation

πŸ‘‰ Cut one onion & one capcicum (Square/triangle) as seen in above image.
πŸ‘‰ Take bamboo sticks and make raw soya tikka.

Fry the soya tikka

πŸ‘‰ Put 1 tsp ghee on tawa. Then heat your pan until it’s smoking hot.
πŸ‘‰ Put the tikka in a raw for frying
πŸ‘‰ Cook from all side. Slightly it becomes crispy.
